Ambience was woodsy and warm. Server was on point and knowledgeable . Steered me toward the rib eye steak finished with garlic butter. Might be the best rib eye I ever ate! Two enthusiastic thumbs up for this place!
Stayed at this resort as we were in town for our friends wedding. We ate here at the restaurant Friday night and it did not disappoint. We didn't make a reservation and the host said they were booked but they had a bar area that was open seating. We sat there and were greeted right away. They had live music playing which was nice and the bartender that helped us was so nice too! We got our drinks and food fast. The food was to die for! The Mac and cheese was so good and cheesy. If you stay here, you have to eat at the restaurant at least once during your stay and you will be glad you did!
We loved this place!! The best service and food! Seriously, the best charbroiled wagyu burger! It was cooked to perfection! The onion rings were so light and crispy! We can't wait to come back!! Thanks Chris and Alexis!
From the moment we were greeted at the door to our 5 star service from Amber our dinner was to die for!!! The food was mouth watering. Cocktails, soup, salad, and the best dinner and ambiance. Everything was on point and delicious. Amber is the best waitress!! She is so attentive, heartfelt, genuine, and sweet. Each and every-time we come down from Reno to eat dinner at 1862 we are welcomed with hugs and feel like family. This restaurant is a goldmine! Best date night ever!
They were gracious enough to let me in to have lunch, as I had a dog with me. They serve me some nice French onion soup, some calamari, and a nice drink. I enjoyed coming back here when I'm staying in this place. You could not ask for a better place to sit outside and enjoy the view and awesome weather.
Solid food. Price is a bit high but expected as its at a hotel/resort. I got the prime rib and it was a great cut of meat with minimum fat. Only complaint is that it can out room temp so had to send it back to heat up. But it was tasty overall!!
Since Gayle and I moved to Genoa a few years ago, David Walley's Restaurant and Saloon is often out-of-sight and out-of-mind. There's been an ownership change (now IHG) to the property and perhaps COVID added to the mystery of what was actually open. But, we have found ourselves here in recent memory, for 3 general reasons: 1. Family Dinner in the Restaurant. That's a treat as Gayle's a good cook and we rarely go out to eat (except when travelling) when we're home. 2. Breakfast Hike. Gayle and I walked the Camino Ingles last year and our training walk was to go from Genoa Lakes up to the Eagle Ridge water tower, and then down to Walley's. After a hearty breakfast at the restaurant, we'd walk back to Genoa (via the nicely paved walkway into town) and then home. 3. Friday or Saturday Date Night over Appetizers and Music. We did just that a couple weeks ago. And I'm still waiting for Catfish Cqrl to make a return appearance. Our food choices throughout have been very good, as has the service.
I haven't been here to Wally's restaurant at the hot springs since last year summer, so since I was up at South Lake Tahoe recently, it seemed like a good time to drop on down Kingsbury Grade to the hot springs. Go to the bottom of the hill and turn left and Wally's is just up the road a little ways. I love sitting outside when the weather will allow. The wind wasn't too bad today so that made outdoor dining just right. Service is right on it with drink orders. I remember the desserts here from last year and they were probably some of the best desserts I've had in my life, no kidding! We wanted a little food before desserts, so we shared the 1/2 rack of ribs and fries that came with wasabi and BBQ sauces. You can request one of the other or none if you prefer. The ribs were very good and I did like the slightly spicy wasabi sauce on the ribs ... I never saw that anywhere before. The fries were hot and crispy as well. Now for the desserts! I had already had the strawberry shortcake, so I decided to try the lemon shortcake and my friend got the tiramisu. OMG! was that lemon shortcake good ... way better than I expected. Topped with whipped cream and a berry coluee' (sauce) cascading down one side. My friends tiramisu was spectacular as well, so light and melty in your mouth, with just the right hints of coffee and balanced chocolate. We shared both desserts. Come here and get the desserts if anything ... heck skip the food just go for the wine and desserts! Note: some of my older pics are of food that is no longer on the menu as the menus has changed since ..... gotten smaller.
